Teach Writing

Research has shown that Story Champs® converts oral language gains to improvements in writing. Printable writing organizers and master lesson plans specifically designed to teach writing are provided as part of the Story Chaps curriculum. Teach Vocabulary

When your students consistently produce complete stories, they expand their academic language. The Story Champs curriculum provides specific stories that have embedded tier 2 vocabulary words with contextual cues to learn help teach students inferential word learning. Master Lesson plans are also available to help provide structure to teaching vocabulary with the Story Champs curriculum. Other supports include Spot the Sparkle posters and Word Journals that help students track new words and build their vocabulary.

Teach Expository Language

Informational discourse…not as difficult as you might think. If you think students enjoy narratives, wait until you teach them to talk like books! Story Champs® has specific master lessons plans and printable pattern blocks included in the curriculum that teach expository oral and written language. These lessons and support materials teach students to identify the main idea, key supporting details, and new terms that are present in informational text.
